My name is Marissa Moore and I offer individual and couples therapy for LGBTQIA+adults living in Missouri and Kansas.
Welcome! At Mending Hearts Counseling, I aim to help you improve your mental health and overall well-being. My name is Marissa Moore, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Kansas. I currently provide virtual therapy services to adults who are living in the states of Missouri and Kansas. My practice is self-pay only due to the emphasis that insurance companies place on a diagnosis. I have specialized training in working with the Queer and Transgender Community. I use a humanistic approach to psychotherapy and am happy to navigate your stressors and challenges with you.
A Bit About Therapy
Therapy can be exciting and scary at the same time. Therapy can bring up uncomfortable emotions and I'm here to help guide you through those emotions and learn ways of coping that are conducive to healing. If you have any questions about therapy feel free to reach out to me at any time and I'd be happy to answer your questions.

What types of therapy do you use?
I offer both individual and couples sessions through telehealth. I can see clients residing anywhere in the State of Missouri or Kansas. I use integrative approaches to Therapy, as not every person responds to specific modalities the same way. We will discuss what methods of treatment may work for you during our sessions.
What types of clients do you work with?
I work with many individuals who are part of LGBTQIA+ community and have focused much of my training in this area. I also work with many neurodivergent folks. I am a poly-affirming psychotherapist and am continuing to increase my education in this area.
What are your rates?
My rates are $100 dollars for intake sessions, individual psychotherapy, and couples therapy appointments. Most appointments last between 45-50 minutes. I also offer gender-affirming letters to access gender-affirming medical treatment for my trans and non-binary clients through the Gender Affirming Letter Project (GALAP). I have limited spots available if you need this service, contact me for availability.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients. These rates will be discussed through a free 10-15 minute phone consultation if I determine we are a good fit.
Do you accept insurance?
I don't accept insurance because I want your treatment to be focused on you and achieving your goals rather than goals an insurance company sets for you.
